    SeaCrest Races for the Cure

The mercury rose above 100 degrees and the humidity was thick, but that didn't stop Janice Moore and Cynthia Allen from walking the Race for the Cure in Washington, DC on June 7. The Komen race comes to the DC metro area each spring. It has rained in years past, flooding the course with ankle-deep water. A little shower would have been a welcomed relief to the heat and sun.

More than 50,000 people ran or walked the race, weaving their way around the monuments and office buildings. Getting a good pace going with 50,000 plus in front of you is difficult. We managed to finish the course, fill up on water, and head back home all before 10:00 a.m.

We're not sure how much money we helped raise last Saturday, but it was well worth the walk.
