Volunteer Roles

One of our readers recently asked if we would discuss the aspects of certification programs that can best be done by volunteers. We have seen programs that are primary staff-driven, programs that are completely volunteer run, and everything in between. As with many questions about certification programs, the answer to what tasks are best suited for volunteers is probably "it depends." It depends on the goals and resources of the program in addition to many other factors. We'd love to hear your experiences on what tasks are best performed by volunteers and what roles are best completed by staff members.

2008 NOCA Annual Conference

The NOCA Annual Educational Conference in San Francisco is less than two weeks away. This year NOCA is offering a full pre-conference workshop on NCCA accreditation. If you are planning to apply for accreditation this workshop is sure to offer useful information and should be an even more valuable resource than the concurrent session offered in the past.
