NOCA Publishes Certificate Standards

In case you missed it, NOCA published its standards for certificate programs titled, "NOCA 1100 – Quality Standard for Assessment-Based Certificate Programs (2009)" yesterday. The standards are free to NOCA Members online at www.noca.org. Non-members can download for a small fee.

Is a Bad Economy Good or Bad for Certification?

Certification professionals have often talked about how the economy impacts the volume of candidates sitting for exams. Now that we are officially in a recession, we’re starting to see more and more news articles and commentary on this subject.

NOCA has posted a poll question on its Web site regarding this topic as well. So far, 44% of respondents have seen an increase in applicants and 28% haven’t seen a change in their application volume. (Visit www.noca.org to see the updated results.)
